Gypsy jazz will be the star of the festival which will be held at the end of June in the arenas. For its part, the Spirale scene will innovate further.

With the arrival of warmer weather, festivals multiply and great Armagnac is no exception to the rule. “Festival-goers will be able to listen to gypsy jazz in Riscle, just as they can listen to jazz in Marciac or gypsy music in Seissan” explains René Brobst, co-president of the Riscloise association “Swing Manouche 32”. It is in fact on June 30 in the Riscle arenas that the association will produce its first gypsy jazz festival with a line-up of musicians who aim to be a real reference for these beginnings. Two large groups are in fact on the program. First “Sheik of Swing quartet”, heir to Django Reinhardt to discover pieces from the East, gypsy notes and gypsy swing; “Aurore Voilque”, the second ensemble selected, includes the violinist who regularly accompanies Thomas Dutronc on stage and the guitarist great-grandson of Django. This style of music, which will be based around gypsy jazz, aims, according to the organizers, to bring in well-known and renowned artists in order to attract connoisseurs but also novices. A first for the association and its 60 volunteers, committed on all fronts, an association which intends to be part of an annual cycle of Risclois festivals.
