Quebec drivers continue to be subject to false driving bans due to erroneous files which have still not been resolved since the SAAQ’s digital shift 15 months ago.

Of 8,200 files where such errors were observed, almost a third have still not been corrected.

Suspended licenses would not be the only problem, while other failures have also been noted for storing a car or even automatic bank withdrawals that do not stop.

“It leads to an overload of people who have to come to the counter when they should not do so and it causes additional delays,” explained Christian Daigle, president of the Syndicat de la service publique et parapublic du Québec (SFPQ).

The latter hopes for more transparency from the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ), which should provide real data on all problematic situations.

“The SAAQ should take steps with road users who are problematic, it is not up to people to call back,” he said in an interview with LCN on Thursday.

The one who represents the employees behind the SAAQ counters also reminded us to be courteous with them, since they are not the ones responsible for the website’s setbacks.
