A young violinist prodigy in concert to save a church near Casteljaloux

Manuel Grandvuinet is a young talented violinist who participated in the show “Prodiges” on France 2. This Friday, April 26, 2024, from 8:30 p.m., the young virtuoso performs in concert in Labastide-Castel-Amouroux, a small town located in the Lot-et-Garonne near Casteljaloux.

The goal ? help the association for safeguarding the Notre-Dame de Veyries churchthe place which precisely hosts the concert of this little prodigy.

Who is Manoé Grandvuinet?

Manoé Grandvuinet will therefore be the headliner of this evening which aims repair of the roof and the bell tower wall of Notre-Dame de Veyries, which have suffered over time.

He was born on September 20, 2012 in Issoire, in Puy-de-Dôme. He heard playing a violin for the first time in the spring of 2017, in the upper kindergarten section at the Vernet school, in La Varenne in Maine-et-Loire.

He then attended a concert of early music from Portugal, La Follia. That day, Manoé was totally impressed by the violinist. He talks about it to his parents who will enroll him in a music school. He started playing the violin at the age of 6 and entered the Clermont-Ferrand conservatory two later.

Since then, he has been training at least three hours a day. His father Dominique declared at that time: “We don’t force him, he’s the one who enjoys playing for hours. Indeed, already at that time, whether Manoé was alone in his room or in front of a lot of people, it was the same thing. As soon as he starts playing, he is in his world and takes us with him. »

Save the church

In any case, the young prodigy knows the Lot-et-Garonnaise church.

In 2022, when his father contacted the association, all its members rushed to schedule an evening with the young violinist. The concert was a great success.

After his appearance on the show “Prodiges” on France 2on December 21, 2023, Manoé returns to the Veyries church in Labastide-Castel-Amouroux.

The young teenager, who has gained maturity, will perform a whole list of composers such as Beethoven, Bizet, Emmanuel Chabrier, Francis Lai, Vittorio Monti, Jacques Offenbach, Niccolo Paganini, Strauss Père et Fils, Tchaikovsky, Sébastien Yradier, Antonio Vivaldi and many more.
