An 80-year-old woman raped by her caregiver in Pas-de-Calais

An investigation was opened after the rape of an octogenarian by her carer. The suspect, aged 57, was taken into custody.

An 80-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease was raped by a man at her home in Dainville, Pas-de-Calais, Saturday April 20, 2024. The accused is the victim’s carer, noted The voice of the North .

The suspect in custody

According to our colleagues, it was the retiree’s daughter who surprised the man while he was sexually assaulting her mother. The suspect fled but was arrested shortly after. Aged 57, he is unknown to the courts.

The accused was placed in police custody, during which he allegedly admitted the facts. An investigation into rape of a vulnerable person was opened, most certainly followed by the opening of a judicial investigation. The octogenarian was hospitalized.
