Discover the exhibition on the Liberation of Côte-d’Or, a landmark event that takes place until May 8, 2025 in the gardens of the Department in . This exhibition, organized by the Departmental Archives under the direction of Dimitri Vouzelle, professor of history and specialist in the Second World War, retraces the crucial moments of the Liberation of the department, 80 years later.
Through 20 panels, you can relive the essential stages of the Liberation of the main cities of the Côte-d’Or: , Seurre, Semur-en-Auxois, Montbard, and Dijon. Each city is highlighted with period images and photos illustrating these historical events. September 12, 1944 marks a high point, when the 1st French Army joins the Leclerc division at Nod-sur-Seine, symbolizing the total liberation of the department.
The exhibition is accessible free of charge from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the same time, six sets of these panels will be distributed in colleges, media libraries and town halls to allow all the inhabitants of Côte-d’Or to relive this key moment in history.
