In almost twenty years of career, Kacey Mottet-Klein has accumulated extraordinary successes (“Gaisbourg” by Joann Sfar, “Quand on a 17 ans” by André Téchiné) and rubbed shoulders with renowned actresses and actors such as Catherine Deneuve, Fanny Ardant, Léa Seydoux, Gillian Anderson, Sandrine Kiberlain and Fabrice Luchini. Despite this, the Romand shows great humility: “I am not a movie star, I am just an actor,” he explains in the Ramdam show on January 16.
But every medal has its downside and Kacey Mottet-Klein also faced difficult times: “The period that worried me the most was this transition from childhood to adolescence, then from adolescence to adulthood. It was a pivotal period for me, because I had to prove that I was not just a child. Will people still want me with my adult face? the actor.
Doubts and addiction
As you grow up, the competition in the profession becomes tougher and the projects fewer. “We are not in control of our productivity, we are really at the service of the phone call,” says the actor. The moments of hesitation seem long, doubt and waiting sometimes set in, with the fear that new projects will not arrive.
-Kacey Mottet-Klein also has to face other demons: cocaine addiction. As he comes out of detox treatment, he confides: “It’s an illness. Now obviously, it’s also a life course, an environment, people, financial means which lead us to consume and stay in consumption until it becomes an addiction,” he says.
The acting profession requires Kacey Mottet-Klein to constantly question herself. “Since we are the object of desire of directors, we inevitably tell ourselves that it is our fault if we are not chosen. These moments of radio silence are really complicated to face.”
Rich news
In 2025, Kacey Mottet-Klein will star in three films and a series. “The last two years were good years. Now, I feel that I am entering a period of slack. The energy is not on my side,” admits the actor.
“It’s probably one of the environments where there are the fewest theoretical schemes to get there, whether at the beginning, during or at the end. There are no rules, no laws. Luck is truly the most important factor in being able to start or continue a career.
