Victim of web scammers pretending to be the famous American actor, a fifty-year-old living in filed a complaint a few weeks ago in Saint-Benoît. The investigation was entrusted to the STPJ in Saint-Denis.

The affair made the rounds on social networks after its story in the show “Sept à Huit” on TF1. Victim of web scammers, “grazers” pretending to be Brad Pitt’s mother and then the American actor himself, this interior decorator was allegedly fleeced for nearly 830,000 euros in the space of ‘a year and a half.

Residing in Réunion since her divorce, Anne, 53, filed a complaint a few weeks ago with the community of gendarmerie brigades of Saint-Benoît, Réunion the 1st learned from a source close to the investigation, confirming information from the Parisian.

Since then, the file has been transmitted by the Saint-Denis public prosecutor’s office to the group for the repression of astute delinquency (GRDA) of the STPJ of Reunion. The Reunion police are now seeking to identify the perpetrators of this large-scale fraud, notably through “the beneficiary accounts of the funds” and investigations to trace the IP addresses used by the scammers.

“No suspects have been identified at this time”however, the Saint-Denis public prosecutor’s office told Le Parisien, while a private investigator would have traced the scam to Nigeria.

The broadcast of the report recounting her story earned the complainant a “bashing” campaign on social networks, turning her into ridicule. “I’m not crazy or stupid as some people say. I wanted to help someone (…). I was scammed, I admit it”she has since defended herself on the online media Legend.
