Rousson Mbou-Koua is a Congolese-Russian musician, graduated from the Faculty of Mining and Oil at the National Research Polytechnic University of Perm, Russia. It was in this country that he discovered and developed his musical talent, a solid foundation for his promising career.
This career really took off in 2017 when he won the first prize at the “Russian Student Spring” festival. Since then, his popularity has continued to grow, thanks to his victories in intercollegiate creative competitions and his dynamic activity on social media.
In August 2024, Rousson was welcomed to the Russian House to present his gold single, “C’est quoi”, in collaboration with the Ivorian Fior 2 Bior. Becoming the first Congolese artist to obtain a gold single certification in Russia is a major achievement which highlights his growing influence on the international scene.
Also last year, he also carried out a musical tour in the Republic of Congo, including concerts in Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire. His energetic performances delighted the audience and strengthened his bond with fans. A creative evening at the Russian Cultural Center, in Brazzaville, was another highlight of this tour.
Rousson doesn’t just create Music; it also plays a crucial role in promoting Russian musical culture in Africa. In return, he introduces Russian listeners to contemporary African musical traditions, thus building a cultural bridge between the two continents.
His impressive discography includes studio albums, hit singles and international collaborations. Among his most famous works are “C’est quoi” and “Spring of the students”, both of which met with great critical and commercial success.
