Beautiful island in meeeersang Laurent Voulzy. Tuesday evening, M6 took viewers almost 10,000 km from the mainland, towards Ko Tarutao, a virgin island in the south of Thailand, with “The Island: the penal colony”. Seven years after the last season, the Six once again bet on celebrities, in order to make them live a real nightmare. 20 Minutes was lying… under a blanket to follow the heated moments of the first two episodes. Replay!
Ten personalities facing themselves
For those who have lived on a desert island for too long, “The Island”, the perfect antidote to the good feelings of Christmas, owes its success to an original concept. For ten days, in total isolation, ten personalities must manage to survive and reach an exfiltration point located ten kilometers away, and this, in ten days.
The actor Terence Telle, the boxing and MMA fighter Lucie Bertaud, the ex-Miss France Delphine Wespiser and Nathalie Marquay-Pernault, the actor Patrick Puydebat, the entrepreneur Julien Cohen, the influencer Daniela Capone, the journalist Carine Galli, athlete Pierre-Ambroise Bosse and ex-footballer Sidney Govou are this season’s daredevils.
The credits, which are reminiscent of those of “Koh-Lanta” on TF1, suddenly get the adrenaline pumping, like the introductory speech by Loury Lag, Mike Horn’s successor at the presentation. “You’re going to have to fight!” » The tone is set.

Tears and abandonment of entry
One by one, the adventurers reveal their motivations to Loury Lag. Daniela Capone burst into tears “I forgot myself a little, I’m looking for my identity a little,” confides Nico Capone’s companion. Same observation for Nathalie Marquay-Pernaut, when discussing the death of her husband or even for Terence Telle, speaking about his mother.
Then comes a twist, even before the adventure begins, for Carine Galli. The journalist missed a step and suffered a triple ankle fracture. She is forced to leave the game in tears. The nine remaining candidates dive into the water to reach the banks of Ko Tarutao. They equip themselves with their individual camera and have two days to find food, build a shelter and make a fire. Cohesion is there. But it’s too quiet…
“We must take the lead”
Adventurers take a long time to build a drying rack, to the detriment of their shelter. Julien Cohen, who appears quite directive from the outset (“Now is the time to take the lead “), annoy Delphine Wespiser and Lucie Bertaud. Patrick Puydebat complains of a “heat stroke”. While the Bertaud-Bosse-Govou trio works to find a place and materials to build a shelter, the Capone-Telle duo look for resources.
Note that throughout these first two episodes broadcast Tuesday evening on M6, Loury Lag warns the candidates and the public about the things to do and to avoid in “survival mode”. Fun and informative, that’s also what “The Island” is all about.
“A beautiful mess”
As the sun heats up, Julien Cohen blurts out, facing the camera, “it’s a real mess”, while Lucie Bertaud tries to rally the troops to start (finally!) building the camp and lighting the fire . But it doesn’t work. The fighter takes the criticism badly and starts looking for dry wood. On the water side, the 30 liters allocated in large cans are running out. Concern is mounting. “Either we die, or we find water,” says Julien Cohen.
New blow from Trafalgar on the camp. Patrick Puydebat, who was already in trouble, was stung by a stingray and screamed in pain when the doctors intervened. The 52-year-old actor must leave the adventure. There are eight castaways left and only two liters of water. After a start that drags a bit, the program goes to pieces! The entrepreneur Julien Cohen is the subject of all the criticism.
Water, water!
At dawn on the second day, the castaways complained of lack of sleep. Lucie Bertaud deplores the lack of places under the shelter and gets angry with Sidney Govou. Julien Cohen still gives the instructions, which irritates Terence Telle. Today’s mission, that of searching for water, is entrusted to Pierre-Ambroise Bosse and Sidney Govou. Immersed and with a map in hand, they try to make their way through the jungle. Jump on the couch! They come face to face with a venomous snake, before continuing on their way to distressing music. Breathtaking, but tense, “The Island” is indeed relaunched, and the adventure will continue next week, on M6.
