The Vaud tax authorities will enhance their online services while the Vaud Tax software is in its final stages. Monday, during its annual conference, the Finance Department presented the latest developments.

From today, taxpayers can receive directly online the documents that they previously received by post, thanks to access to the secure portal of the State of Vaud. This portal provides access to all the online services of the Vaud cantonal administration. To access it, you must request a MIE, a means of electronic identification.

Ultimately, it is planned that taxpayers will be able to receive their documents only electronically instead of by post.

End of VaudTax software

The VaudTax software is in its final year, after 20 years of existence. From next year, only the online service will be usable. A version that can be accessed on any vector, at any time and updated automatically, reminds the State.

Another advantage compared to the software, the online version allows, for example, to divide the part of the family quotient for the children. To fully understand these changes, the State will once again offer information evenings and explanatory videos. An event open to all taxpayers wishing to familiarize themselves with these changes is planned for March 25 in Beaulieu Lausanne.

Finally, regarding tax cuts, the 2025 installments this time took into account the 3.5% reduction granted to the Vaudois population. However, this is not the case for the additional 0.5% for this year. A referendum deadline runs until the end of February. The Vaudois and Vaudoises will then vote on future tax cuts between 7 and 12%. The vote could take place as early as this spring.
