Benoît Roué, the manager of the Le Rex cinema in Pontivy, says he is very satisfied with the results for the year 2024. “2024 was a very good year for cinema with 5.6% more than in 2023. And, with almost 300 entries, we narrowly fail to match the results of 2019, the number of entries of which was 134,162.”

15-25 year olds returned to the cinema

“The first quarter of 2024 was complicated compared to previous years. The reason: no major American or French films, due to the screenwriters’ strike. In addition, since Covid, we had lost the 15-25 year old audience, but they came back! »

Here are the films that were the most successful in 2024: A little something extra comes first with 15,360 entries followed by Vice versa 2 (7 039 entrées). The Counts of Monte Cristo ranks third with 6,751 entries ahead Vaiana 2, the Disney Christmas (still on display) with 6,575 entries on the clock.

“Superheroes are coming back in force in 2025, a normal year in terms of American production,” promises Benoît Roué.

On display, many live action films: Snow White, Dragons, Kaamelott, Avatar, Superman, Zootopia (Disney Christmas)…
