Tickets to win for “The Sky Above” at the CO2 Room

At the window, Lou and Maé each create an imaginary world to escape everyday life which can sometimes seem brutal. Lou lives alone with his mother. It is flat like a pancake and soft like a slug. But when she goes out on the town, she always buys her favorite child a little gift. Lou is an only child. Maé lives with her father. It screams and it laughs loudly and then sometimes it stings. His father is a bit like that… prickly all over. Maé calls him the porcupine. And then there is the roof, this space of freedom, there, under the starry sky. This little place protected from others and far from brutality and hassle.

One evening, Lou walks past the window sill and, like the tightrope walker in the circus downstairs, goes off to dream of another world. That evening, on the roof of the building, everything changes and the two children find themselves linked for life, preferring the caress of the wind in their hair, the delicacy of the shapes created by the smoke from the chimney and the company of stars in their nocturnal torments. Lou and Maé love each other with brotherly love and that’s all that matters.
