It was 50 years ago to the day: on January 6, 1975, TF1 made its debut on television. Half a century of existence, broadcasts, strong news, cult sequences and highlights. In the video at the top of this article, our journalists Romain Goichon and Bertrand Lachat delve into the archives with those who lived through these five decades. Like Denise Fabre and Évelyne Dhéliat, brought together for the occasion for the first time since that time.

“I had a lot of fun”

Évelyne Dhéliat and Denise Fabre began their careers at the ORTF in the 1960s. For Évelyne Dhéliat, it was October 23, 1968. The two women embodied the famous announcers, a profession that has now disappeared, which, time, consisted of presenting the programs. “The programs followed one another. We were live all the time. There was no teleprompter”says the famous weather presenter, talking about her role at that time. “We had to give the best of ourselves, to surpass ourselves at times. It was live. And as Évelyne Dhéliat just said, we had no right to make mistakes with live broadcasts. “That’s what we were tracking. I’ve always been a stalker, even when I’m laughing.”explains Denise Fabre.
