“It’s a human place, a real bistro where you come to spend a moment, not a simple bar where people are there just to have a drink,” comments Aurélien. At the other end of the counter, Oumar, who has just finished the catering season in Paimpol, calmly sips his coffee: “I feel good here. I’m coming to do my lottery, unwind after work. It’s family. We are well received by the boss who is very friendly. »
The boss is Guillaume Delamarche. Since 2018, he has been at the helm of this emblematic place in the town of Plounez, where, in the past, local cider was served by the bowlful. The health crisis was an opportunity for the young buyer to realize that “people had a village spirit. They came here to have their bread, a game of scratching. » So he held on. And after three years alone behind the counter of his establishment, he was able to hire Elyse then Audrey. The latter in turn has just moved to full-time. It must be said that the PlouneZ bar is open 7 days a week, a range of hours that customers appreciate, like the multi-service aspect. Here, you can also order MamZelle Quem pancakes, buy local vegetables or an oyster basket and collect packages, the bar also serving, since March 2024, as a pick-up point.
The passion for darts
A place for consumption and lively discussions, the PlouneZ bar is also a playground and competition. Under the leadership of the boss for whom darts, from a hobby became a passion, Team Pégase was born three years ago. A name chosen in reference to the house mascot, the Pegasus dog. In the back room where the target is available to customers, every Thursday evening, the team trains. David Le Cam is one of its pillars. Plourivotain, entrepreneur in Bréhat, he has known Guillaume for 20 years. The two friends play together in doubles and also compete individually and as a team.
“We play matches every Friday, we meet people, we have dinner together afterwards, it’s super nice,” says David. They experienced the adrenaline that competition provides in particular at the last French championship in Vannes (Morbihan), in June 2024, where they took third place as a team in National 3. “I discovered a side of myself sporty, a motivation that I didn’t know I had,” marvels Guillaume Delamarche, who has managed to infuse his bar with a dual spirit of family and competition.
