Support the Embobineuse, a Marseille venue threatened with closure

Precariousness of independent music venues in , episode 2356: after celebrating its twentieth anniversary only a few months ago, it is the turn of the Winderan emblematic hall of , to be threatened with closure. From the height of these two decades, we find a place located in the Belle de Mai district, in a former winding factory. An essential landmark of Marseille counter-culture with 2 to 3 concerts per week, L’Embobineuse combines radicalism and open-mindedness in a place that defends and propagates the essential vitality of alternative music of our time, despite the narrowness of a window that seems to shrink over the years.

Beyond the concerts, performances and other projections that take place there, L’Embobineuse is also an important living space for the neighborhood, with theater workshops and social discussions for locals. Despite this, aid has become non-existent for a project which is of no interest to public policies and which suffers from ever-increasing insecurity within its teams.

In order to counter this and allow the room to continue its activities, the Embobineuse team is setting up a jackpot which aims to offer it a new sound, and to restore the material, while allowing the artists and teams to be remunerated at their fair value. We therefore appeal to your good heart in the face of the ever more pressing need to keep these rare and liberated places alive within a system that is as hostile as it is asphyxiating.
