February 1987, Le Creusot. Christophe is 14 years old and this Sunday he is watching family television. 38 years have passed but he remembers that day like it was yesterday. “I discovered a video clip of Jeanne Mas singing Save Me. She appeared alternately as Maryline Monroe or Betty Boop. I loved this little film, it was my first crush,” recalls the man who now lives in Pont-de-Vaux and has a collection of several hundred pieces dedicated to the artist.
She never stopped creating
After this revelation, the collection actually began at Christmas 1987, his parents giving him a double live performance of Jeanne Mas. Since then he has never stopped. He owns all 25 albums produced of course but not only that. 33 rpm or 45 rpm classics, colours, maxi 45 rpm vinyls or CDs, tickets, DVDs or VHS tapes of all his clips or concerts, autographs, caps, t-shirts, posters, show tickets, his collection is impressive , acquired over nearly 40 years of exclusive passion.
This official remembers the first concert seen in Montceau-les-Mines in 1992, at the Olympia or the Casino de Paris. And this indelible memory: “I met her briefly during a concert at the Olympia. We were around ten fans. We exchanged a few words, she gave me a kiss. It was quite intimidating. »
And to explain: “The passion has remained intact because it has never stopped creating new things even if it has been a little more discreet for the general public in recent years. Its goal is not necessarily to sell but to create. »

A passion which, however, is not invasive. Christophe confesses that his wife “likes it but in small doses” and, as a music enthusiast, he listens to other artists. As for his collection, it is carefully stored out of sight but contains rare pieces like this album with a printing error, the titles being in the wrong order on the cover, this other with incorrect song durations or this 45 rpm whose title is on two lines instead of one…
From flea markets to garage sales, always on the lookout for rare pieces (see elsewhere), he is already preparing his next meeting: next March with his wife, they will go to Nancy for a concert from the tour of his idol who has just released a new album.
