End of game for Benjamin Désert, from Le Havre competing for the title of best pastry chef in the thirteenth season of the famous M6 show. The candidate left the adventure, at the gates of the grand final.

During episode 13, broadcast Thursday January 2, 2025, the last four amateur pastry chefs still in the running for the final of the pastry competition competed in three events dedicated to the end-of-year celebrations.

Benjamin was one of the three semi-finalists, with José and Tsiory, to have achieved a “top” during the previous episode, devoted to the first part of the semi-final. Two tops were needed to qualify.

“I am happy with the path I have taken”

The creative test gave the thirty-year-old the opportunity to reveal himself. Candidates were invited to recount a highlight of their life in the form of a giant snow globe cake. The father of the family chose to discuss the birth of his son. “I am happy with the path I have taken,” he confides to the cameras of M6.

Finally, the creation of the dome puts the young father in difficulty, who is unable to reproduce the snow globe.

The technical test does not bring him any luck. The candidates had to reproduce the Christmas ornament of pastry chef Fabio Giambrone. After the blind tasting, Benjamin comes last with his creation.

When the third and final test begins, Timothée is the only qualified candidate. All others are tied. The instructions given to the candidates are then to revisit the traditional Christmas cake wreath, with, as a bonus, the right for everyone to benefit from some advice from Cyril Lignac.

Eliminated at the gates of the grand final

The Norman candidate gives in to panic. He was finally eliminated, notably because of a failed cabbage, due to a lack of cooking. In its balance sheet, the Le Havre remains positive regarding the progress made.

The loser nevertheless gives way to a trio of finalists. José and Tsiory, having each won two tops, join Timothée for the final.
