The actor will not appear in the fourth installment of the adventures of Spider-Man with Tom Holland after his surprise appearance in “No Way Home”.

“I will disappoint you, but no, I will not be in Spider-Man 4“, said the British actor, who has already played the Spider-Man in two films released in 2012 and 2014. “But I know that no one will believe me.
Questioned several times in 2020 and 2021 about his participation in No Way Home before it was made official, Andrew Garfield had in fact been forced to lie for months during interviews.
If Andrew Garfield had said goodbye to the character after the failure of The Amazing Spider-Man 2, he always said he was up for a new Spider-Man adventure.
“I will do it again without hesitation if the project is good, if the film brings something new or if its basic concept is new,” he explained to Esquire magazine last October. “I love this character. He brings joy.”

The fourth Spider-Manstill with Tom Holland as Peter Parker, will be released on July 22, 2026. Destin Daniel Cretton, director of Shang-chiis in charge. Filming planned for summer 2025.
Last October, Tom Holland assured in an interview with podcast Rich Roll that “the script needed to be reworked” but that “the writers did a great job”.
We still do not know the history of Spider-Man 4 and if MJ (Zendaya) will be back. This film is highly anticipated. For the record, No Way Home (2021) ended with an open and bittersweet ending: Peter Parker saved the world, but it forgot his existence.
