Tim Allen, voice of Buzz Lightyear, promises “a very, very clever story”

Toy Story 5 promises to be under the best auspices. American actor Tim Allen, who has lent his voice to Buzz Lightyear since the first part of the animated saga in the original version, spoke about this new sequel expected for June 17, 2026. In the columns of Collider , the one who started the dubbing of the fifth film praises a “brilliant” scenario.

“It’s a very, very clever story,” says the actor. “I really don’t believe (Pixar Studios) is doing it for the money.”

“I’m sure they want it to be a success, but that’s not why they made it. If they hadn’t come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have it done and they would not have called me and Tom (Hanks, historical voice actor for the character of Woody, Editor’s note). “It’s a very good story.”

He spoke about the dubbing process, which he has just started with a first 5-hour recording session. “It was a real challenge to (find Buzz’s voice), and then in about two hours I could do it.”

Launched in 1995, the saga Toy Story follows the adventures of a little boy’s collection of toys, which come to life whenever his back is turned. A sure value in the Disney-Pixar universe, it has brought in $3.3 billion in 30 years, without even counting derivative products.

According to Variety, the fifth part will feature a rivalry between these traditional toys and the electronic objects that grab the attention of today’s children.
