Work on the geothermal heating network for the future Gers Chamber of Commerce and Industry is progressing in the former military barracks.
For the past week, new construction equipment has been positioned at the Spain Barracks. This time the work is located in one of the expansion basins which puncture the ground of the old parade ground, on the Avenue de l’Yser side.

For the company Géoforage, located in Vic-en-Bigorre in the Hautes-Pyrénées, this involves installing the infrastructure for the heating network of the future CCI. The building, now removed from asbestos, is nothing more than an empty shell awaiting its interior design, under the control of the Airoldi firm, based in Auch.
1,000 m² to heat
The future headquarters of the chamber will benefit from geothermal energy to heat its 1,000 m². An economical and ecological way to produce energy, according to the wishes of Rémi Branet, the president of the establishment, who declared in February that he wanted “an exemplary building in terms of energy consumption, and we are moving towards geothermal energy . » The future CCI should obtain the BDO label.*
The machines will come into operation in the first week of January, to drill wells a few tens of centimeters wide.
The workers will then place casings there, which will serve as guides for pipes ultimately used for the circulation of water between the basement and the building’s boiler room.
