Snow White: a disturbing first trailer for Disney's next live-action

While waiting for the remake of Lilo & Stitch and after the release of MufasaDisney has a new live-action adaptation of one of its flagship cartoons in the works: Snow White. Announced for March 2025, the film has just been revealed through a new trailer that is eye-catching.

Seven Dwarfs in CGI and Gal Gadot as Evil Queen

After a first teaser against the background of “Whistle while working”, it is now the song of the seven dwarves “Heigh-Ho” that we can hear in the new trailer for this film Snow White directed by Marc Webb (The Amazing Spider-Man).

In fact, it is also the opportunity to see a little more clearly the seven dwarves who will offer shelter to the princess played by Rachel Zegler (West Side Story, Hunger Games: The Ballad of the Serpent and the Songbird).

The emblematic characters of the 1937 cartoon which are Shy, Professor, Simplet, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy and Sneezy are thus revisited with CGI sauce for this feature film which seems to make lots of nods to the classic of the animation while dragging it through the mud with “live-action” visuals that would make Walt Disney turn in his grave.

The icing on the poisoned apple is that we can also see Gal Gadot (Red Notice, Wonder Woman) not only in the tight costume of the Evil Queen, but also an unconvincing old witch version.

As a reminder, Snow White is inspired by a tale by the Brothers Grimm and tells the story of a young princess taken in by seven dwarves after fleeing her evil stepmother who wishes to eliminate her.

Disney presents the film as a reinterpretation of the Grimm tale, and we indeed expect to find a certain modernity in its scenario knowing that it is written by Greta Gerwig (Barbie) et Erin Cressida Wilson (The girl on the train). On the music side, the new songs from the feature film (one of which can be heard in this trailer) are by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman).

Get ready to meet this new Snow White on March 19, 2025 in the cinema and until then you can watch again Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs streaming on Disney+.
