Arnaud Desplechin, filmmaker, originally from , “fell in love with ”. The filming of his new film, “An Affair”, took place in the capital of Gaul. François Civil, Nadia Tereszkiewicz and Charlotte Rampling are the main actors.

The director, Arnaud Desplechin, originally from Roubaix, is filming in Lyon. The filmmaker is associated with the genre of auteur cinema. Author of “Kings and Queen”, in 2004, his biggest success, the one who won the César for best director in 2016 for “Three memories of my youth”, admits “to having fallen in love with Lyon”.

During filming at the Tête d’Or park, he says: “the trees are still leafy, the weather is nice, the magic of Lyon has worked”.

The plot of his next feature film mixes genres, between “futuristic account and melodrama”. With François Civil,Nadia Tereszkiewicz,Charlotte Rampling, the film tells the story of a pianist returning to his hometown.

Far from the northern landscapes, he chose Lyon for several reasons.

I was looking for a city that had a flavor of Italy, in Roubaix, that’s not really the case. And a city where there was a national orchestra.

The filming of this feature film lasted six weeks. The team has left the Tête d’Or park, the Festival of Lights will take over for other stars. The film, co-produced by Aura Cinéma, shot entirely in Lyon, should be released in 2026.
