The Pradéens were invited to participate in a major dance lesson as part of the Montpellier Danse festival, Wednesday June 26. Around thirty people responded to the call and took part in the game following the instructions of a professional choreographer. “The goal was to discover the approach and the world of a choreographer”reveals Sophie Luchair, coordinator of the festival’s off-site events.

Change of plan following an attack

Between two creations presented during the dance festival, Marta Izquierdo Munoz and her company Lodudo production, came to give their advice to apprentice dancers. Unfortunately, the planned work had to be modified following the attack the day before by one of their dancers. In fact, and as a wink in her absence, the Spanish choreographer offered a voguing workshop. The dance, popularized by Madonna, reproduces the postures of models during fashion shows.

“It is an ode to femininity which all marginalized beings have seizedsouffle Marta Izquierdo Munoz. We made this gesture for him, to convey a message and what better way to express yourself than with the body? Everyone enjoyed it and understood the codes of combat: pride and a kind of self-elevation.” A choreography that will be possible to see again soon and very soon since it will offer a roaming show, as described by Nicolas Cadet of the company, five times outside the walls next week and notably Wednesday July 3 at 7:30 p.m., at the Clapiers show.
