Indonesian flavors are on the menu at the Kopi Nona café-restaurant, located on Rue du Frout. The manager, Kiki Amalia, 35, is from Lombok, an island near Bali. On the Kopi Nona menu, there are typical dishes, with fish, meat as well as vegan or vegetarian dishes (gado-gado with salad, vegetables and peanut sauce, chicken noodles with a marinated egg, skewers, fried rice with vegetables, rice bowl, etc.). A different menu will be offered each week. It will be possible to order set menus or takeaway coffee all day long.


The café-restaurant Le XXIe becomes Le Bretagne

The café-restaurant Le Bretagne has around sixty seats indoors (above Enguéran and Valérie Lagadec) and more than 150 outdoors.

Valérie and Enguéran Lagadec have taken over the former Le XXIe, under the Le Bretagne brand, 18, place Saint-Corentin. Menu, furniture and decor have been renewed. The five employees were kept and new hires were made. Thirteen people in the dining room and kitchen ensure the business is open every day of the week. In terms of cuisine, you can find something to eat throughout the day with a breakfast menu, aperitif boards served from 11 a.m., a dish of the day, salads, burgers, mussels, meats , the catch of the day, a scallop dish (their specialty) and homemade desserts.

The couple is known in Quimper since they ran the bar-tabac Le Quimper, in Kermoysan, from March 2017 to February 2023.


Bike it, the kingdom of cycling

Aged 30 and a cycle technician-salesman for around ten years, Nicolas Guégnen has also been responsible for a specialist store and a trainer at AFPA.

Nicolas Guéguen opened Bike it, a store entirely dedicated to bicycles, at 17 rue Sainte-Thérèse. It provides maintenance for individuals and businesses with the possibility of collecting bicycles in the municipalities of Quimper Bretagne Occidentale and Pays Fouesnantais. Organic bicycles and maintenance products are also available for sale.

Since June 18 and after 18 days of closure, the medium-sized store located on the Ergué-Armel roundabout welcomes customers under the Intermarché brand. It replaces Casino. The new owner announces that it wants to invest €3 million in the complete renovation of the store starting in January 2025.


New owners at the Braised Golden Chicken

An Afghan refugee for 10 years in Quimper, Farzad Sharifi was able to bounce back and integrate by reopening Le chicken d’or braisé on March 10. A great example of resilience.

Previously located at 61, rue de Bénodet, the Asie d’Or store has moved to 28, avenue de Ti Douar. Originally Vietnamese, the owners, Thao and Nhung Hoang, offer for sale grocery products of all origins and types: canned goods, sauces and condiments, drinks, frozen products, fresh products (etc.) as well as prepared meals (spring rolls, samosas, stir-fried beef, shrimp in spicy sauce, Cantonese rice, etc.). The sales area has increased from 90 m² to 200 m² and two employees have been hired.

The Breton group GHD – Sofibac, owner of the hardware store since 2008, is looking for a buyer. Hard blow for ready-to-wear in Quimper: the Esprit store, Gourvily area, has been liquidating its stocks since the beginning of June. The men’s and women’s clothing brand will definitely lower the curtain on July 20. A new brand, the name of which we do not yet know, should integrate the 400 m² which will be left vacant.


Le Détour, a new craft store

Both artisans, Maud Kramp and Morgan Sérazin-Lepesq opened the workshop-boutique Le Détour, 33, rue des Réguaires. They work there and sell their products. Maud Kramp is a ceramicist and works, under the name “Toutautour céramique”, stoneware and porcelain. Morgan Sérazin-Lepesq makes, under the name “Fillali, la fibre naturelle” felted wool cocoons filled with soaps from the brand “Les savons natures” as well as linen bread or brioche bags.

The shop also has a bread depot.
