Launch of the 5e edition of the Prix Arts Convergences in the form of a call for projects. Videos of 4’max of all genres (documentary, fiction, animation, etc.) are expected on the theme of mental illnesses and their perception. The candidate space is open until Monday, October 14, 2024 inclusive.
Raising awareness among all audiences of the reality experienced by people suffering from mental illness, better understanding these illnesses, promoting quality cinematographic works… These are the objectives of the Prix Arts Convergences. Living with a mental illness can take many forms. Thus, a great deal of freedom is left to the participants of the Prix Arts Convergences for whom the creation of these videos is an opportunity to discover the difficulties, but above all the wealth of imagination and humor used to overcome, circumvent and live this handicap on a daily basis.
This Prize is offered in the form of a call for projects, open to all, for videos of 4′ max of all genres (documentary, fiction, animation, etc.) with more than €5,000 in prizes for the award-winning videos, by the Jury and the Public (Grand Prize: €2,500, Jury Prize: €1,500, Public Prize: €1,000).
The call for projects will be distributed for several months to schools and training courses that address the subject of communication through images (journalism, fine arts, audiovisual, cinema, etc.) but also to medical-social structures and psychiatric care structures. The very short format of these videos allows us to get to the point. Brevity is also a guarantee of an effective presence on the web and social networks in order to make these videos and the issues they raise known to as many people as possible.
Several prizes with €5,000 in endowments will be awarded on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, during a ceremony open to the public at the Musée du Quai Branly – Jacques Chirac:
– the Grand Prix (€2,500),
– the Jury Prize (€1,500)
– the Public Prize (€1,000).
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Prix Arts Convergences, LaCinetek, partner of this edition, offers the 15 winners in the running 3-month subscriptions to LaCinetek. The Public Prize will be awarded following the online votes counted on the Jury’s pre-selection.
