The concerts of the 2024 Selection of the National Jazz Competition of La Défense, organized by the Department, took place on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 June 2024 at Paris La Défense. Six groups performed: Cosmic Keys, East Aces, Lea Maria Fries, Lord$, Roman REIDID x Paper Chase, and Son Moeun Project.

Roman REIDID x Paper Chase
The jury wished to salute the compositions and sounds of this project carried by the virtuosity and charisma of its musicians on stage. Their tenacity will have paid off since the group learned two days before its passage that it would replace Daoud, excused for medical reasons.

The Instrumentalist Prize goes to violinist Moeun Sonleader of the group Son Moeun Project for her folk playing, colorful and imbued with influences migrating from the East to the West.

| The second edition of the Young Jazz Jury’s favorite The young jazz jury joins the official jury’s vote for the second year in a row. Young people from child welfare structures unanimously gave their favorite to the group Roman REIDID x Paper Chase. This artistic and cultural education program carries the commitments of the Hauts-de-Seine Department: access to jazz for young people and audiences who are far from it. |
