Open air cinema is back in force this summer in Dordogne, the event is already celebrating its 27th anniversary, as many years of cinema that have forged its image today, a truly social and friendly cinema. Spectators come to discover or rediscover their favorite screenings of the year, but this time in a warm setting around exceptional landscapes and villages that form the Dordogne.

There will be the courtyard of honoru Château de Hautefort which will host two films: The Count of Monte Cristo and Vice versa 2, the abbey of Coly-Saint-Amand will broadcast The Name of the Rose and Comme des Garçons which will be broadcast at the Campagne departmental domain on August 2. In parallel with the broadcasts offered by Ciné passion, the Soirs des Toiles festival is hosting its 7th edition of open-air cinema, co-produced by the Lux cinema in Le Buisson and Vox in Montignac.

Priority to youth

For this 2024 edition, Ciné passion has decided to highlight youth. Indeed, after the Covid period, young students no longer go out to the cinema, “We wanted to highlight the young audience, it’s the audience that has deserted the theaters the most and we trust them, in certain films the children even bring their parents back,” explains Julien Robillard, broadcast manager at Ciné passion.

For the association, it is important to make open-air cinema more accessible, the programming has been reworked, there will be more films which are suitable for both young audiences and adults. Among them, Vice-Versa 2, Despicable Me 4, Kensuké Kingdom, Sirocco and even Super Mario Bros. To win back the hearts of young people, free rates are offered for children and games and activities are planned from 7 p.m.

Prices are around €5 to €7 per broadcast and reservations can be made online, all the information is on the ciné passion website: https://cine-passion24.com/cinema-plein-air.php
