Two years after her sudden death at the age of 77, a posthumous album by the French singer, actress, model and florist Dani was released on June 14. Entitled “Beware of departure” during its writing, this work resonates today in a surprisingly prophetic way.
His voice, deliciously hoarse, comes back like a boomerang. Dani, for the general public, remains associated with this magnificent song “Comme un boomerang” written by Serge Gainsbourg for Eurovision in 1975, a title not selected then, but resurrected in 2001 by the duet between Dani and Etienne Daho.
Dani also described Etienne Daho as a “compass”. And the French singer is also found in the posthumous album “Attention Départ” as discreet reinforcement on a track he produced entitled “Rouge”. But if Dani’s smoky voice comes back to life today, it is mainly thanks to her “close guard” as she called it, in particular the guitarist Emilie Marsh, her accomplice on stage. The musician was in the process of composing and recording the song models at Dani’s house, which were well advanced, but not finished, when Dani passed away on July 18, 2022.

“Attention Departure” will be finalized in the studio with another musician, Edith Fambuena, who is responsible for the production and arrangements. The producer is particularly famous for her work on hits by Alain Bashung and also helped to resurrect him on her posthumous album.
We find among others in this testamentary “Attention departure” by Dani which speaks of farewells and new beginnings a title signed by Jil Caplan, others by Robi or the writer Pierre Grillet, as well as a duet with the actress and singer Emmanuelle Seigner. The album oscillates between rock, indocility, irony, joy and tenderness. Like its interpreter, a fierce non-conformist in search of love.
