House of the Dragon : Ewan Mitchell (Aemond) performed a completely nude scene

In an interview with VarietyGeeta Patel, the director of episode 3 of season 2 of House of the Dragonreturned to the filming of a particular scene. Aegon goes with friends to a brothel and stumbles upon his brother Aemond (Ewan Mitchell), curled up in the arms of his favorite prostitute. Faced with the provocations of his brother the king, Aemond ends up getting up, completely naked, and leaving. Ewan Mitchell “is such a talented actor. He understands what he has to do to embody Aemond. (…) I said to him, ‘Let’s move forward with the story. If you don’t feel comfortable being naked, then you’re not going to be naked.’

House of the Dragon : the director of episode 3 tells the behind the scenes of this nude scene

Geeta Patel explained the reasons for this nude scene in House of the Dragon. Aemond “was bullied as a child. Because he suffered, he created this character that is the exact opposite of what he feels. A character of someone who doesn’t give a damn about anything. That change, from someone who is vulnerable to someone who puts on his armour, was central to that scene. It’s one of the few times you see the young child in him and the pain that he has. Gradually, he puts on his armour and when he stands up, the fact that he’s not bothered by the fact that you see his penis is an illustration of a strong, visceral change. So, of course, Ewan said to me, ‘I want to be totally naked in this scene. It’s important to me because it reflects who my character is.'”
