It’s the story of a moth who lives in a village’s thrift store and dreams, one day, of working in the very selective field of Haute Couture… Unveiled a few days ago as part of the Festival Annecy International Animated Film Festival 2024, the new project from the Franco-Belgian studio nWave found a choice ally in the person of Jean Paul Gaultier.
Approached by the studio teams several months ago, the French designer will sign the artistic direction of this 3D tale, the title of which has not yet been communicated.
During a conference given during the festival, the fashion designer, retired from the podiums since 2020, returned to the common points between his profession and the field of animation, evoking similarities in “the approach of line, silhouettes, lines” but also in the “volume ratio”.
The film should be released sometime in 2027. It will include in the cast the Spanish actress Rossy de Palma, long-time muse of Jean Paul Gaultier, who will lend her features and voice to one of the characters. .
