“The numbers are stable and of good quality”: in Plouescat, the Saint-Pierre football club has 182 members

The general meeting of the Saint-Pierre de Plouescat took place on Friday, June 21, 2024, in the presence of Jean-Luc Moisan, first deputy mayor. The club, co-chaired by Xavier Jacob and David Coroller, has 182 members, including 68 senior players, divided into three teams. The flagship team, after two seasons of promotion (R3 in June 2022, R2 in June 2023), is suffering a decline this season. “The numbers remain stable and of quality for this return to R3 and the club remains ambitious,” commented Xavier Jacob.

Erwan Laurans, from Lesneven, will be the team’s new coach, alongside Mick Guéguen, who has been in place for several years. Teams 2 and 3 of Saint-Pierre remain in D2 and D4 respectively.

Good results among young people

As for the football school, the five teams, from the U6 to U11 categories, showed good behavior and obtained very good results, both in season and in tournaments. The U13 to U17 categories play within the Kernic Youth Group, a group of three clubs, Saint-Pierre Plouescat, FC Lanhouarneau-Plounévez and US Cléder. Like those of seniors, the numbers of young people are stable.
