Celine Dion was afraid to hand her Grammy to Taylor Swift: “I was very, very nervous”

Celine Dion was in tears as she thanked her family and fans during the premiere of her documentary.

The singer, who had to stop performing after learning she suffered from the rare disease, appeared Monday night at the premiere of her new documentary “I Am: Celine Dion.”

In an emotional speech, she said: “Of course, I wouldn’t be here without the daily love and support of my wonderful children. Thank you René-Charles. Thank you Nelson. Thank you, Eddy. Thank you very much.”

In addition to thanking her doctor, Dr. Amanda Piquet, and director Irene Taylor Brodsky, Céline – who admitted it was the biggest crowd she had stood in front of in years – also thanked her fans.

She continued, “And thank you, my fans, your presence during this journey has been a priceless gift. Your unwavering love and support through all my problems has brought me to this moment.”

Speaking about her health, the “My Heart Will Go On” singer admitted that she feels like “an apple that fell from a tree.”

She explained: “One of the stories you’ll hear in this film is one that I read when I learned about my illness. I compared myself – and I don’t say this casually – to a tree apple.

When I told myself that I was a bit like an apple from a tree, I said to myself: “I don’t want you anymore [les fans] get in line if I don’t have any shiny apples for you. A few days ago, I received a message from a fan who said: “We’re not here for the apple. We’re here for the truth.”
