We thought we knew everything about the singer. Invited this Monday, June 10, 2024 on France 5 on Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine’s talk show, she once again surprised her audience.

No matter how much we say, Anne-Elisabeth Lemoine and her team are second to none when it comes to leading their guests, casually, to open up about their private and professional lives. Crucial points or points of detail, it doesn’t matter, and that’s what makes the France 5 show so special. And from Laura Felpin to Hélène Ségara via the Minister of Justice Éric Dupond-Moretti, the personalities present yesterday on the set of the talk show were no exception to the rule.

In the second part of the show, “It’s your turn”, the singer came to discuss the illness from which she has suffered for several years but also the twenty-fifth anniversary of a fruitful career and the way in which she plans to celebrate the event, during an exceptional concert scheduled for December 21 in Paris, precisely in the superb and legendary Salle Pleyel. One thing led to another and the talk show host led her to look back on the launch of her career in 2000.

A year marked, in particular, by the release ofIn the name of a womanhis second album after Heart of Glass, whose success was dazzling (1 million records certified, i.e. diamond disc). Returning to the whirlwind in which she then let herself be carried away, the original Varoise recalls weeks of “crazy pressure, lots of paparazzi” And “requests in all directions”.

“Yes, really… Because I wasn’t a girl of the light and I tried to look natural, like that (…) Until I was 27, my parents have almost no photos of me. Every time I do a TV show, people say to me: ‘Do you have a photo?… ‘Well not too much’… I have to have two photos where I’m a kid and the rest of the time, I was spending my time to leave as soon as there was a device somewhere”she then remembers.

And the audience is surprised, she who otherwise seems so at ease. A posture that comes with maturity, success, concert stages, television sets and, without a doubt, this eye disease which, before she made it official, attracted numerous criticisms. She also announces that she is currently working on writing a book.

While waiting for December 21, her fans will find her on June 19 on M6 in a special episode of Scenes of households built around the Fête de la Musique, with Valérie Karsenti and Frédéric Bouraly.
