Bamboo missing from Serge Gainsbourg's will? “I had nothing after his death”

In 1980, a certain Caroline Paulus fell into the arms of Serge Gainsbourg, who gave her the nickname Bambou. The model, who was already a fan of “his songs” before meeting him at the age of 18, his autobiography comes out this week Step by step in the nightin which we discover the abominable childhood she experienced.

Bambou recounts the last years of Serge Gainsbourg

In this book, to be published this Thursday, November 7, Bambou also recounts his life as a couple with Serge Gainsbourg and declares in Le Parisien: “Despite his problems with life, he was a great bon vivant, who loved good food and making people laugh. (…) I thank him for everything he has given me. Trust. Someone who trusted me to the point of giving me a child, that's huge. (…) He had a lot of trouble getting over the departure of Jane, Charlotte and Kate, he told me: 'What I miss most is the laughter of children'. (…) He had reached an age where he was more aware of what it was to be a father. With Lulu, he enjoyed every moment“. Their only son was only 5 years old when Serge Gainsbourg died. Today, Bambou has not managed to start a new life with another man: “I made a few attempts, but I knew it wouldn't work and it didn't. It's difficult to arrive after Serge“.

Bamboo lives in “a second Rue Verneuil

Since her duo in 2007 with Marc Lavoine, Bambou had withdrawn from media life. She lives in a house that Serge Gainsbourg had bought for Lulu and her: “We saw each other every day, but we were constantly in transit. I still live there because I am very attached to it. I left everything that Serge had left. It's a second rue de Verneuil”. A precious possession full of memories for the one who has not touched anything of her inheritance: “I have neither moral rights nor right of inspection. It is Serge’s four children who share it. (…) This is normal, we were not married and Serge had not made a will. He died two weeks before his meeting with his lawyers. I got nothing after his death but I didn't ask for anything“.
