Tindersticks, the most chic and distinguished of British bandsare on French tour. They stop Saturday November 23, 2024 at Trident in partnership with Le Circuit, the contemporary Music scene in Cotentin…
Stuart Staples (vocals, guitar), David Boulter (keyboards), Neil Fraser (guitar), Dan McKinna (bass) and Earl Harvin (drums) present their new album Soft Tissue.
“A maddening class and rare elegance”
The group worked in particular with Claire Denis by composing the music for ten of his films. They take on ever greater challenges.
In this band it’s about that desire, that need to achieve something and go places you’ve never been. I feel like it comes from everyone. I didn’t feel like there was any restriction or dogma on what this album could be, beyond what it brings us and what excites us.
Le Trident and Le Circuit add: “Having mastered the art of putting spleen to music, The Tindersticks always manage to touch the heartstrings with maddening class and rare elegance, inspired by the silky folk intimism of Leonard Cohen as well as by the panoramic visions of Ennio Morricone and John Burry, the funeral outbursts of Nick Cave. »
