The model sisters, whose father is Palestinian, have donated to several NGOs including UNRWA and World Central Kitchen.
They have shown their support for the Palestinians since the start of the war. Model sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid have donated a million dollars to several humanitarian aid associations in the Gaza Strip, according to information from the Hollywood Reporter confirmed on Saturday June 1 by the BBC.
The two sisters, whose father is Palestinian businessman Mohamed Anwar Hadid, chose four organizations: HEAL Palestine, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF), World Central Kitchen (WCK, several humanitarian workers of which were killed in a bombing a few weeks ago), and United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA).
A few days before the announcement of this donation, Bella Hadid had shown her support for the inhabitants of Gaza in Cannes by wearing a kieffieh dress. The keffiyeh has become more of a symbol of support for the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip plagued by Israeli bombs since the attack suffered by the Hebrew state on October 7.
Messages of support for Palestine
“Palestine in my mind, in my blood and in my heart. Always… Even if I have to continue working, despite this horror, carrying our culture makes me a proud Palestinian and I want the world to continue to see Palestine, wherever I go,” she wrote in the caption, like you can see it below.
Her sister Gigi, more discreet, posted a message in October on her social networks. “My thoughts are with all those affected by this unjustifiable tragedy. I have deep empathy and sorrow for the Palestinian struggle and life under occupation, it is a responsibility I take on daily.”
