Maylis, Belgian candidate for the Star Academy, could not be saved by the viewers. She is the first eliminated of the season.
Originally from Namur, Maylis was the only Belgian candidate this season of Star Academy. Since October 12, the young 23-year-old singer had joined the other candidates at the Château de Dammarie-les-Lys.
“When it was offered to me, I immediately accepted. I couldn’t refuse such a great opportunity. My goal is to learn and progress as much as possible. I want to get out of my comfort zone and feel more comfortable on stage“, she confided to our colleagues at Ciné Télé Revue.
Unfortunately for her, her adventure was short-lived as she was ousted after just one week. Her interpretation of Amy Winehouse’s hit “You know I’m no good” did not appeal to the jury.
Belgium thus loses its one and only candidate.
