Bookseller at Mortagne-au-Perche (Orne), Frédérique Franco tells us about Tata, her favorite of the month.

“Valérie Perrin, who notably wrote Change the water of the flowers, is an author who delights us with moving novels, brimming with humanity, and with endearing characters.

She is no exception to the rule with her brand new book entitled Tata. It’s an absolutely captivating novel, one of those that you devour and can’t put down until you’ve finished it.

History

The story begins when Agnès receives a phone call from the gendarmerie of a town in Burgundy, informing her that her aunt Colette has just died, and that she had left instructions to contact her niece. It’s hard to understand, because for Agnès, Colette died three years ago!

Agnès therefore decides to go to the town where Colette resided and to settle in her house in order to unravel this incomprehensible story, and above all to find out who was buried in her aunt’s place three years earlier. Colette left clues since she recorded dozens of cassettes, which are just waiting for Agnès.

Hearing her aunt’s voice will be moving for her, and will allow her to gradually understand what happened. We journey with Agnès in her investigation. She returns to the places of her childhood, reunites with her childhood friends, who will help her in her efforts, and discover, like us, an incredible and unsuspected story.

Why read this book

This moving novel is at once a suspenseful investigation, the story of a mystery, and a family secret. It is also the portrait of an atypical woman, Colette, who led her life with unusual originality and demonstrated great freedom. In short, a multiple book that will keep you in suspense until the last pages and move you! »
