(Alliance News) – VIPs caught in the crosshairs of Vincenzo Coviello, the Intesa Sanpaolo Spa employee who spied on celebrity accounts, are ready to seek damages.

According to Tuesday’s edition of La Repubblica, Mr. Coviello claimed in recent days to have spied on everyone, including the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella. A circumstance which, for the moment, is not confirmed, since in the files provided by Intesa for the period from February 2022 to February 2024, the name of the president does not appear.

“The controls will obviously also cover all searches: those on VIPs and politically exposed personalities. But also those on companies listed on the stock exchange (Exprivia, for example), on spas (Egm, Gnutti Cirillo) or Srls ( among others, the Visibilia of Minister Daniela Santanchè)”, explains Repubblica.

“All current account holders, and others, who were spied on by Coviello certainly feel wronged: there are 3,572 of them and many, despite the institute’s official apologies, have already contacted the public prosecutor’s office to obtain the documents and advance the lawsuits for damages.”
