Gray, cold and snow: the Thanksgiving menu could leave you wanting more. Forecasts.

shy sun

This will not be the ideal weekend to stock up on vitamin D: gray weather will predominate, particularly during Sunday and Monday. If you want to take advantage of the Thanksgiving weekend to admire the fall colors, Saturday is the day you should choose. With the exception of eastern regions of Quebec, between five and eight hours of sunshine would be possible for the first day of the long weekend. Remember that at this time of year, a maximum of 11 hours of sunshine is available.

This lack of sunshine is explained by the arrival of a system from the northwest. This will cross the province towards the east and is expected to dump precipitation on the northern, central and eastern regions of the province during the night from Friday to Saturday. This system is expected to continue to affect the east of the province until Monday. At the time of writing, southern Quebec would be essentially spared from the precipitation.

WEEK-END 4

Chilly, even cold

Behind the passage of the system, a descent of arctic air will invade the province. This cold snap will cause the mercury to drop well below seasonal norms. On Sunday, a maximum of 12°C is expected near Montreal. On Monday, the metropolis will have difficulty crossing the 10°C mark. Worse still, the regions of Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Bas-Saint-Laurent and Saguenay—Lac-Saint-Jean should simply not cross it during the three days of the long weekend.

WEEK-END 3

Conducive to the first flakes

Several regions could see the first snowflakes of the season during the Thanksgiving weekend. In addition to areas of northern Quebec, snow could fall in mountainous terrain, particularly in the Laurentides wildlife reserve, the Chic-Chocs mountains and the Valin mountains. However, the chances of seeing snow at low altitude would be modest.
