Created by the friendly Gonzague Brionne 20 years ago, Ferme Légumes Brionne, in Saint-Denis-le-Vêtu, in Manche, was one of the pioneers of organic in the department.

When he bought the place, it was a traditional livestock farm. “At the time, it’s true that there were a lot fewer of us in organic farming,” remembers the market gardener.

When his wife Cécile joined him on the farm, she decided to develop the vegetable processing which she sells, successfully, in jars.

Vegetables that appeal to everyone and renowned chefs

The Gonzagues are present on the Coutances market, where their many loyal customers await them impatiently every Thursday.

“We also offer sales at the farm, every Wednesday evening, from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m..”

If the exceptional quality of their production appeals to everyone, it is also very appreciated by renowned local restaurateurs.

In Coutances, the Brionnes provide the restaurant at Bib gourmand Le Kalamansi or The Presbytere, in Heugueville-sur-Sienne, also distinguished by the Michelin Guide.

Their vegetables can also be found on the plates of the Les Capucines brasserie and the Michelin-starred restaurant l’Intuition, by chef Mickaël Marion, in Saint-Lô.

A party for several people for 20 years

To eat organic and local and to celebrate their 20th birthday, Cécile and Gonzague joined forces with collective of producers from Ferme de la Mouvette, to Courcy and to the apple producer, Anne Aubin, from the orchard Bite the apple, also located in Courcy.

Without forgetting the association Freewheels in Coutançais. The festivities are scheduled for Saturday October 5, 2024, from 2 p.m., and everyone is welcome, Brionne customer or not!

The program for Saturday October 5, 2024

To start the party, the organizers are offering you a bike tour, from Ferme Légumes Brionne. Supervised by members of the Roues Libres en Coutançais association, you will reach the Ferme de la Mouvette, in Courcy, then the Croque la pomme orchard.

A circuit of approximately 30 km. You can also, by car, visit the Ferme de la Mouvette from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. (and buy products!) and the Orchard, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.

It is at the Ferme Légumes Brionne that the heart of the party, from 2 p.m. All afternoon, numerous activities and workshops await visitors, as well as a farmers’ market.

“The activities and workshops were designed by our customers,” appreciates Cécile Brionne. Painting exhibition, wood lathe, pottery, yoga, etc. The Brionne customers will show what they are capable of!

From 7 p.m., there are concerts, with on-site catering, provided by local food trucks L’Agonnette voyageuse and Caribou.
