the Marvel series finally confirms the existence of this cult character

Episode 3 of Agatha All Along was released this Thursday, September 26, 2024 on Disney+. A new episode that teases the upcoming arrival of an iconic Marvel Comics character. And it’s honestly not too early.

Agatha All Along : the series continues its course

After directing the excellent series WandaVision, the showrunner, screenwriter and director Jac Schaeffer is back in the Marvel Universe with Agatha All Along. Spin-off of WandaVision, this new series focuses on the fate of Agatha Harknessembodied by Kathryn Hahn. The latter embarks on a mythical quest on The Witches Road to regain his powers which were stolen from him by Wanda at the end of WandaVision.

Three episodes are already available on Disney+. Agatha All Along takes up certain plot features of WandaVision while playing on the same style of atmosphere. Even if the series seems to disinterest most people, it places itself, for the moment, at the top of the list of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series.

Mephisto is finally confirmed!

For a few years now, fans have been waiting for Mephisto be introduced in the MCU. Several MCU productions seemed to refer to it in the past, without formalizing its presence. Already at the time of WandaVision, certain clues tended to say that Mephisto was indeed part of the MCU. In She-Hulk: Lawyer, Madisynn explains that she made a pact with a demon, without Mephisto’s name being mentioned either.

Agatha All Along

It is now done. In episode 3 of Agatha All Alonga character made explicitly reference to Mephisto ! During a conversation between Jennifer Kale (Sasheer Zamata) and the teenager (Joe Locke), the name of Mephisto is mentioned during a dialogue. The two characters talk about Agatha’s past, and in particular about her missing child. Agatha would have exchanged her child for the Darkhold, certainly with Mephisto himself. Jennifer Kale specifies that no one knows what happened to Agatha’s son, and that the latter could even be “a henchman of Mephisto”.

Who is Mephisto?

For those who don’t know him, Mephisto is an iconic character from Marvel Comics. To roughly summarize, he’s a bit like the Devil of the Marvel universe. Created in 1968 by Stan Lee and Steve BuscemaMephisto dominates the infernal dimensionoften considered to be Hell in the Marvel Universe. Contrary to Lucifer or SatanMephisto is not associated with the Christian religionbut represents Evil in the Marvel Universe.

Mephisto

He has a wide range of supernatural powers: soul manipulation, reality control, metamorphosis, energy manipulation, teleportation, immortality, etc… But his favorite game, it’s about making pacts with your victims. It is in particular he who is responsible for the creation of the Ghost Rider.

Thus, thanks to Agatha All Along, Mephisto is therefore officially introduced into the MCU. A revelation that will please fans, while waiting to meet him in the flesh. Well, more like bones and flames.
