MotoGP, Indonesia J2: what time do qualifying and the Sprint take place this Saturday in Mandalika?

The first day of the Indonesian Grand Prix was marked by many top-notch events and performances. Only Miguel Oliveira was unable to finish the day, victim of a fall during FP1 which caused a fracture of his right wrist. The Portuguese pilot must return to his native country as quickly as possible to undergo an operation and try to shorten his convalescence.

Enea Bastianini who marked this first day by achieving a new absolute record on the Mandalika circuit. Riding his Ducati Desmosedici GP24, he set a time of 1’29.630 in the final minutes of FP2, ahead by only 40 thousandths. Jorge Martin
and setting a new record on the Indonesian track, improving by three tenths the old mark of Luca Marini in 2023.

Jorge Martin also impressed with remarkable speed, finishing second and closely followed by his PRAMAC Racing teammate, Franco Morbidelliwho finished third just 79 thousandths behind
Bastianini. Morbidelli, the fastest during FP1, thus confirms his excellent level of performance.

Pecco Bagnaiafor his part, encountered difficulties with the medium tires but managed to climb to fourth place at the end of the session, 82 thousandths behind
Bastianini. An astonishing scene took place after the session when
Bagnaia was towed by Marc Marquez to the pitsprobably due to a lack of fuel.

Our two French people are in good shape in Indonesia

Marco Bezzecchi (5e), Fabio Quartararo (6e) et Marc Marquez (7th) also showed their speed, notably with
Marquez who avoided a spectacular fall by using his knee to straighten his Ducati GP23.

Pedro Acosta suffered a crash early in the session but still managed to finish eighth, securing a direct passage to Q2. Fabio Di Giannantonio et
Maverick Viñales complete the top 10, also securing their place in Q2.

The day was also positive for Hondawith Johann Zarco (11th) and Luca Marini (12th), close to direct access to Q2.
Aleix Espargarówho fell twice, will have to go through Q1, just like Alex
Marquez
which also experienced a fall at the end of the session.
