This discovery is the result of research carried out by the Medical University of Youjiang in Chinewhich studied the eating habits of around 10,000 participants, a third of whom had oral cancer. Researchers have identified an inhibitory effect of dark chocolate and sweet peppers on the development of this canceralthough precise consumption quantities were not specified.

This study is a continuation of other research on the benefits of dark chocolate. An earlier study from Harvard University, published in the British Medical Journalhad notably demonstrated its ability to reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes by 20%unlike milk chocolate which would promote weight gain.

Dark chocolate, a promising health ally

These encouraging findings highlight the importance of a balanced diet in disease prevention. THE dark chocolatewhen consumed regularly and in moderation, appears to offer multiple health benefits. However, researchers point out the need for continued studies to better understand the mechanisms of action of cocoa compounds and determine the optimal quantities to consume to fully benefit from its protective effects.
