In the new version of the health record for children, which will be implemented from January 1, parents will find advice on how to best raise their children, with messages regarding “scientific and societal developments” or the identification of disorders in children.
Thus, as indicated by the General Directorate of Health (DGS), questions concerning the practice of physical activity until adolescence as well as exposure, thenuse of screens, “in a process of identification by the health professional of the misuse of screens”, will be implemented in this new version.
Likewise, for each age, benchmarks are offered to parents to situate the child in his development (social, cognitive, motor). They will also find advice on raising him without violence, tables on the introduction of foods, advice on sleeping or guidelines for detect neurodevelopmental disorders. During adolescence, questions around identification of endometriosis or psycho-affective state are also on the program.
Medical advice
On the medical side, the twenty mandatory health examinations are all detailed, with a new compulsory exam at the age of six to “strengthen prevention at a time when the majority of children enter primary school, particularly in terms of sensory screening and developmental disorders,” said the DGS. For vaccinations, modifications follow the new obligations and recommendations.
This check will also be an opportunity “to carry out the booster vaccination against whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus and poliomyelitis recommended at 6 years of age”. During the child’s first year exams, prevention messages are sent to parents regarding sleeping position, unexpected infant death and shaken baby syndrome.
