The Ministry of Health and Social Protection has categorically denied rumors and false information about the vaccination catch-up campaign.
“Following the circulation of audio recordings calling into question the safety of vaccines approved in Morocco and containing false information on the vaccination catch-up campaign, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection categorically denies the validity of these false allegations, and confirms the safety of all vaccines approved in Morocco and their essential role in protecting the health of children against diseases,” said a press release from the ministry on Tuesday.
This campaign, launched on October 28, 2024 and which is currently continuing, is organized in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Habous et of Islamic Affairs, in addition to other local partners. It is part of “the consolidation of Morocco’s achievements in the field of vaccination and the fight against epidemic diseases, which mainly concern vaccination catch-up against a series of infectious diseases, in particular poliomyelitis, diphtheria, whooping cough, measles and tetanus,” underlines the press release.
To this end, the ministry reiterates that all vaccines provided to children in Morocco are subject to strict international standards in terms of quality, safety and effectiveness, and that no complications have been recorded with these vaccines, administered to all children for decades.
Likewise, the ministry considers that the publication and circulation of such untruths mainly aims to disseminate misleading information with the aim of intimidating and sowing panic among public opinion and to call into question the effectiveness and safety of vaccines. approved in Morocco, although these allegations are completely unfounded.
Thus, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection calls on all parents and guardians of students, as well as all citizens to contribute to the success of this campaign which aims to strengthen individual and collective immunity, fight against diseases and epidemics, and not to be influenced by these untruths and fallacious and unfounded allegations, notes the press release.
