A second vice tightens around Olivier Di Prinzio. Found guilty ofwelfare scam three weeks ago by the Police Court of the Vaudois district, the ecological Yverdon municipal councilor is now sitting in the dock of his political family.

Last month, the Court confirmed a criminal order issued in May by the Public Prosecutor's Office. In fifteen months, between April 2014 and April 2016, the sixty-year-old had unduly benefited from integration income for a total amount of 14,000 francs.

If he admitted the facts before the Court, he still contests the trick and the deliberate intention to enrich himself. The elected official therefore appealed to the Cantonal Court, indicates “La Région” in its December 4 edition.

His party disappointed and shocked

The man had hidden this affair from the North Vaudois Greens. In a press release released this Wednesday, their committee said it was disappointed and shocked by the “reprehensible behavior both legally and morally” of one of their own.

The Greens believe that Olivier Di Prinzio has violated the values of the Vaud environmental movement. Their leaders claim to have tried for many weeks to clarify the legal situation of this elected official who represented them within the deliberative body at the time of the events.

His seat wobbles

“Despite numerous requests, he refused to cooperate proactively and thus violated the charter of the elected Greens of Yverdon,” indicates the press release.

The committee of the North Vaud Greens considers that Olivier Di Prinzio can no longer sit with the Vert-es et Solidaires group within the deliberative body of Yverdon.

Call for exclusion

The section thus goes in the direction of its ally Solidarity and Ecology. The party is indeed demanding that the necessary measures be taken without delay: “We call on the Greens to decide on the immediate exclusion of Olivier Di Prinzio from their ranks and his resignation from the Municipal Council.”

However, such a decision can only be taken at a general meeting. “If he refuses to resign on his own, we will convene such a session in view of the seriousness of the situation. We will propose its exclusion from the Greens of Northern Vaud,” confirms their president, MP Géraldine Dubuis.
