Dengue cluster: insecticide spraying planned in Miri

After the reporting of several cases of dengue fever in the heights of the Miri housing estate in Punaauia, the Health Department is calling for vigilance. And announces processing operations on Monday October 14 and Friday October 18, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Prevent the “cluster” from growing. This is the objective of the Health Department, which will send its Environmental Health Center to the large Punaauia housing estate next week for a series of insecticide sprayings. Several cases of dengue fever have been reported locally in recent days, and the authorities are recalling the measures to be taken to stop the spread of arbovirus. Destroy larval breeding sites, often contained in small volumes of stagnant water in gardens or gutters, use mosquito repellent during the day, report suspected cases… The CSE interventions will take place from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. on Monday 14 and Friday October 18, and it is advisable on this occasion to “leave doors and windows open, cover food as well as fish ponds and aquariums and report hives to 40 50 37 45”. “In the event of rain or strong wind, treatments will be postponed,” specifies the Health Department.
