In , a podcast for caregivers of people affected by cancer will be released

Oncopole, a center of expertise in the treatment of breast cancer in and the Ouest region, has just announced the launch of its first podcast. Entitled “The Caregivers’ Path”this aims to accompany and support the entourage of patients suffering from cancer.

Caregivers in the spotlight

After the release of a web series “Le chemin d’Émilie” following the journey of a patient affected by breast cancer, the hospital center is repeating the experience. But this time, in the form of a podcast honoring loved ones and caregivers people with cancer. Speaking themselves, they talk about “the essential and indispensable role they play with their sick loved ones”.

In fact, according to the latest data from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), nearly 8 out of 10 patients cancer patients benefit from the daily help of a caregiver.

October Cancer Awareness Month

The IUCT Oncopole will launch the podcast on Tuesday October 1ston the occasion of Pink October and National Caregivers’ Day, celebrated on October 6. Led by a journalist, the six episodes, with an average duration of 25 minuteswill each address a particular theme (intimate life and sexuality, family life, caregiver-carer relationship, nutrition and physical activity, professional life, mental health) with the “authentic testimony of a caregiver and accompanied by an expert”. In addition, many specialists participated in the creation of this project.

“Le Chemin des Aidants” will be available for free on all listening platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcast, Deezer…
