POLITICS – A handshake and the start of hostilities. In Vienna this Thursday, October 10, for a trip on the theme of mental health, Prime Minister Michel Barnier received a cold welcome from former Macronist Sacha Houlié. This former figure of the left wing of Macronie expressed his irritation… and his regret.

In front of the TF1 camera, Sacha Houlié first thanked Michel Barnier for making mental health the great national cause, before cutting short the politeness: “ I will tell you that I have a regret because on Tuesday, I did not vote for the motion of censure. And when I read Le Parisien this morning, I bitterly regretted not having voted for it, given the comments of the Minister of the Interior ». « I respect your opinion, but he is someone who has a sense of state », defended Michel Barnier.

Regularization of undocumented immigrants “drop by drop”

In an interview given to Parisianthe Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau – very present in the media since his appointment – has formulated new proposals on security and immigration. With, among them, announcements which could have made his left jump, such as the tightening of the regularization of undocumented immigrants which would notably imply the end of the Valls circular.

A non-registered person close to creating a group in the Assembly

Former socialist activist, and early Macronist, Sacha Houlié left the ranks on July 10 after a year marked by political disagreements with the president, and in particular the immigration law. Now not registered, he assured the press that the creation of a social-democratic group in the Assembly is very close, it approaching the 15 members necessary.

Angered by the dissolution and then the appointment of Michel Barnier, the young deputy hesitated for a long time before deciding not to vote for the first censure of the government. Supported only by the elected representatives of the New Popular Front, the motion of censure only managed to collect 197 votes, against the 289 necessary to bring down the government. That of Sacha Houlié would therefore not have changed the course of things.
